The Sabbath Journal: A 52-Week Companion for Bible Study, Prayer, Gratitude & Reflection
Available as:
If you've ever wanted a simple place to study Scripture, record prayers, practice gratitude, and reflect on what God is teaching you each Sabbath, this journal was created for you.
---
If you're learning to keep God's Sabbath, one of the things you may discover is that resting isn't always as easy as it sounds.
I know that was true for me.
When our family first began observing the Sabbath, I was so focused on "doing it right" that I struggled to actually rest. I worried about what counted as work, what I should or shouldn't do, what still needed to be cleaned, and whether my family was observing the Sabbath correctly.
Over time, I learned something important:
Sabbath isn't just about stopping work.
It's about delighting in God's presence.
It's about creating space to slow down, worship, study Scripture, pray, reflect, and remember that God is our Creator, Provider, and Sustainer.
That journey inspired me to create The Sabbath Journal—a simple tool designed to help believers cultivate a meaningful weekly Sabbath rhythm through Bible study, prayer, gratitude, and reflection.
What Is The Sabbath Journal?

The Sabbath Journal is a 52-week guided journal designed to accompany your Sabbath practice throughout the year.
Each weekly reflection page includes space for:
Scriptures to Study
Bible Study Notes
Gratitude
Prayer Requests
Weekly Reflection
In addition to the weekly journal pages, you'll also find:
An Introduction to the Sabbath
A How to Use This Journal page
Sabbath Scripture References
A Year-End Reflection Page
Whether you're completely new to Sabbath keeping or have been observing God's Sabbath for years, this journal provides a simple place to record what God is teaching you week after week.
Why Keep a Sabbath Journal?

Throughout Scripture, God's people are repeatedly instructed to remember His works, teach His ways, and meditate on His Word.
Writing things down helps us do exactly that.
A Sabbath journal can help you:
Grow in Your Bible Study
Instead of reading and moving on, journaling creates space to meditate on Scripture and record insights for future reflection.
Track Prayers and Answers
One of the greatest blessings of keeping a journal is looking back and seeing God's faithfulness over time.
Cultivate Gratitude
Sabbath is a reminder that everything we have comes from the Lord. A regular gratitude practice helps keep our hearts focused on His goodness.
Create a Meaningful Sabbath Rhythm
Having a dedicated journal can help establish a weekly habit of slowing down, reflecting, and intentionally setting apart the Sabbath.
Who Is This Journal For?

This journal may be especially helpful for:
Christians interested in keeping the biblical Sabbath
Families seeking to create meaningful Sabbath traditions
Homeschool moms
Bible study enthusiasts
Prayer journal users
Anyone wanting a deeper rhythm of rest and reflection
A Note for New Sabbath Keepers
If you're just beginning to explore Sabbath observance, please know that learning to keep Sabbath is often a process.
It certainly was for me.
You do not have to have everything figured out immediately.
Over the years, our family has continued to learn, grow, adjust, and deepen our understanding of Sabbath rest. My hope is that this journal encourages you wherever you are on that journey.
The goal isn't perfection.
The goal is drawing closer to God.

Final Thoughts
One of my favorite verses about the Sabbath is Isaiah 58:13:
"If you call the Sabbath a delight..."
That simple phrase has become one of my family's goals.
Not merely to observe the Sabbath.
But to delight in it.
My prayer is that this journal helps you create space each week to study God's Word, reflect on His faithfulness, cultivate gratitude, and experience the blessing of Sabbath rest.

Shabbat Shalom,
Emily, Her Life In Pursuit
